Measure what you treat

Kairos Technology Partners brings Cortex Technology’s DermaLab Aesthetic and Colorimeter DSM-4 to U.S. practices, for objective readings taken chairside during the consult.

Why measure

Most consults rest on an opinion the patient can’t verify.

A photo shows what skin looks like. It can’t measure collagen, barrier recovery or true skin tone. Cortex instruments take measurements instead of pictures, so your plan starts from a number and your follow-up has something to compare against.

Where it sits in your day

From first consult to follow-up

Measurement works best as a habit built into the visit, not a separate appointment.

01

Baseline

Measure at the first consult, before anything has been recommended.

02

Plan

Build the treatment and skincare plan around what the readings show.

03

Re-measure

Repeat the same measurements at the follow-up visit.

04

Show

Show the patient the change as a number, not an impression.

The instruments

Two instruments, two jobs

Both are designed, manufactured and hand-assembled by Cortex Technology in Aalborg, Denmark.

Skin condition

DermaLab Aesthetic

A benchtop instrument with interchangeable contact probes. It reads five properties of the skin (collagen, elasticity, hydration, pH and sebum) and produces a result page the patient takes home, with comparison to earlier visits.

Skin color

Colorimeter DSM-4

A wireless handheld that reads color, pigmentation and erythema at one spot and classifies phototype by ITA in under a second. The calibrator is built into its case.

What the patient sees

Results a patient can read

Every reading lands on one page, placed on its range, in language a patient can follow without a clinical background. Print it, email it, or pull it up at the next visit to show what changed.

The record builds with each visit, so the conversation at follow-up starts from the numbers, not from memory.

Is measurement right for your practice?

These are the questions practices usually work through together before choosing an instrument. Tick them off as you go. Nothing you check is saved or sent.
